How Arvind Kejriwal can save himself


Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have a clear vision. Eliminate all opposition. Decimate them or absorb them. My previous post [link below] showed a few people decimated by them. Today let’s look at the others: those who are saved by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP].

1. Himanta Biswa Sarma 


This guy was in Congress and faced serious charges related to the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam. He also faced corruption charges related to drinking water supply in Guwahati. His house was raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation [CBI]. Then he switched over to BJP and all his crimes just vanished. It’s as simple as taking a dip in the Ganga and all your sins are forgiven. Today he is the chief minister of Assam. Nothing is heard of all the charges that were levelled against him.

2. Amarinder Singh 


This former Captain in the Indian Army was a Congressman until Modi’s Enforcement Directorate [ED] started raiding him, his son and his son-in-law. He put an end to all those raids simply by joining the BJP.

3. Pema Khandu 


This is another Congressman who washed all his sins in the Ganga of BJP. Many corruption cases that existed against him just vaporised when he joined the BJP in 2016. Today he is the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

4. Suvendu Adhikari


Yet another Congressman who shifted allegiance to the Trinamul Congress and then saved himself from jail by joining the BJP. All the people who lost their money in the Ponzi scheme that he was part of were made fools by Modi’s party which exonerated Adhikari all too easily when he agreed to join the BJP.

5. Ashok Chavan


Another Congressman who was the chief minister of Maharashtra until the Adarsh Housing Society Scam hit him hard. The CBI was after him for years until he joined the BJP. All his sins melted away as naturally as a dewdrop vanishing on the touch of the morning sun. 

6. Digambar Kamat


When the CBI started questioning him on certain irregularities related to water supply in his state of Goa, he just joined the BJP and all investigations ended altogether.

7. Ajit Pawar


This man and his wife were accused of corruption related to cooperative banks of Maharashtra. He then abandoned his party, NCP, and joined the BJP. All charges of corruption vanished.

8. Chhagan Bhujbal 


He was arrested in connection with the construction of Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi. He too found the easiest solution by joining the BJP. Now he is a free man.

9. Narayan Rane


He abandoned the Shiva Sena and joined the Congress. And then charges of corruption came up. He joined the BJP and resolved all problems.

10. Praful Patel


Another guy who abandoned his party NCP and flocked to the BJP along with Ajit Pawar just to save himself from corruption charges.

11. Bhavana Gawali


Yet another of the Shiva Sainiks who jumped the boat to save herself from prison. And the redeemer was again the BJP.

Conclusion

During the ten years of Narendra Modi’s rule, 95% of cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate were against opposition leaders. During Manmohan Singh’s period, there were only 26 such cases and only half of them were against politicians from opposition parties. Modi’s first 8 years (up to 2022) witnessed 121 raids on politicians out of which 115 were against people from opposition parties. Many of these opposition people saved themselves by joining Modi’s party. Arvind Kejriwal can save himself too. Let all politicians save themselves at least. The country has become irredeemable anyway.

    There is no disputing that corruption has been and is a major issue, at lower levels and higher levels. But the way our political establishment -- comprising all parties in different states -- has gone about addressing it is totally disappointing, to the say the least.
    Never has there been a ray of hope.
    Every single party is guilty of acquiescing corruption, in one way or the other.
    Parties point fingers at one another, akin to pot calling the kettle black.
    Not a single party has acted decisively -- in a manner that will set an example -- against its members who have been charged with or convicted of corruption.
    One can go on and on regarding this. But suffice to say that the way things are going in different parts of the country is extremely depressing.

      The very notion of morality, let alone dharma, has been brought down into a quagmire of filrh. That's the biggest catastrophe.

    Bingo! The list is endless, and there are more migrants from other parties than the original cadre for sure. Their way of centralising corruption..

    Among all those listed here, I think Biswa Sarma stands out loud and clear as the most. corrupt.

The Little Girl

The Little Girl is a short story by Katherine Mansfield given in the class 9 English course of NCERT. Maggie gave an assignment to her students based on the story and one of her students, Athena Baby Sabu, presented a brilliant job. She converted the story into a delightful comic strip. Mansfield tells the story of Kezia who is the eponymous little girl. Kezia is scared of her father who wields a lot of control on the entire family. She is punished severely for an unwitting mistake which makes her even more scared of her father. Her grandmother is fond of her and is her emotional succour. The RSS does not exist

An organisation that has 80,000 branches in India does not exist legally in any document. This is the cover story of The Caravan this month. By the way, The Caravan is one of the very few publications that still continues to exist in spite of being overtly critical of Narendra Modi and his Sangh Parivar. You’ve probably heard this joke. A young man walked into his office one morning and found a beautiful young lady sitting in his chair.
