The Insanity of the Right Wing

Let me bring here three short videos from India of these days.

1. A boy is trying to sell some Christmas items like Santa Claus's cap. A right winger threatens him. The religious right winger will rather have the boy beg on the streets than earn his livelihood doing whatever little 'business' he can. Watch the video:

2. A woman who is the vice president of the BJP in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, attacks Christians in a church. She does not spare even a blind woman.

3. This one takes the cake. Observe the demeanour of the right-wing holy man in this. Look at the self-hatred in the way he keeps pulling at his sparse beard. Watch the anger on his face. And the sheer insanity in his expressions.

  1. I think some Christians here need to see these. Reverse the religions, and that's what they do.

    1. Yes, I too notice that most religious fundamentalists behave in the same insane manner. William James was right: excess religion is a form of insanity.

As Liz points out, there are extremists in all faiths... and it is they who defy all the postive their claimed faiths profess. These examples make fools of the protagonists - if they but knew it. YAM xx

    1. If they knew it! Yes, there lies the remedy: self-understanding and understanding of their religion, if that's all possible.

  3. Our beloved country is regressing by leaps and bounds! I shudder to think of what is in store for us if this continues unabated and unchecked!

    1. I had foreseen this and worse, so I'm not surprised. But when is the regression going to stop and progress going to start? That's the worrying question. The present politics is not quite encouraging of optimism.
